About Me
During the initial dot-com boom I had the thrill of applying my experience in television writing and production (e.g. Warner Bros, Walt Disney Television) to creating content for Internet startups and numerous websites (e.g. idealab!, Wedding411). It was the perfect way to justify my degree in TV-Film/Creative Writing for the Media (Northwestern University).
Raising children shifted my focus to the next generation, which inspired me to create ScoopOnSchools: a comprehensive online resource for parents who are navigating their school options in Portland, Oregon.
Most recently, I orchestrated a family year-abroad in Genoa, Italy, immersed in Italian language and culture. That experience continues to inform my current writing endeavors, including the book, Let's Leave the Country! A Guide to Your Family Year Abroad to inspire families with a dream of spending extended time abroad. You can read interviews about the year in Genoa here and here; and check out our family’s blog from our days in Italy at giorni-a-genoa.blogspot.com.
Presently my home is in Portland with my husband and two daughters, where I write at Medium and BecomingBetterPeople.us.
